Overview

This 4-inch stainless steel DPF race pipe is designed for late 2015–2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups with the 6.6L Duramax LML diesel engine and factory 3-bolt turbo outlet flange. Built for dedicated off-road and competition applications, it replaces the applicable factory exhaust section containing the catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter (DPF).

With its durable stainless steel construction, OE-style hangers and application-specific fitment, this LML race pipe provides a replacement exhaust path for compatible competition vehicles.

Before ordering: This is the late LML 3-bolt flange version. It will not fit trucks equipped with the earlier V-band turbo outlet connection, even if they are registered as 2015 models.

Have a 2011–early 2015 Duramax LML with a V-band turbo outlet connection? This 3-bolt race pipe will not fit your truck. View the 2011–2015 Duramax LML DPF Race Pipe (V-Band) for the correct configuration.

Vehicle Fitment: Late 2015–2016 Duramax LML

  • Make: Chevrolet and GMC
  • Models: Silverado 2500HD, Silverado 3500HD, Sierra 2500HD and Sierra 3500HD
  • Engine: 6.6L Duramax LML turbo diesel
  • Model years: Late 2015 (2015.5) through 2016
  • Required connection: Factory 3-bolt turbo outlet flange
  • Body style: Pickup trucks only
  • Not compatible with: Cab & Chassis trucks or vehicles equipped with the early-style V-band turbo outlet connection

Important: Confirm Your 3-Bolt Turbo Outlet Flange

GM used two different exhaust connection designs during the Duramax LML production years. These connections are not interchangeable, so selecting the correct race pipe is essential for proper fitment.

2011–Early 2015

Uses a V-band clamp at the turbo outlet. These trucks require the early-style race pipe.

Late 2015–2016

Uses a 3-bolt turbo outlet flange. This is the correct pipe for that configuration.

Fitment warning: Because the changeover occurred during the 2015 production period, VIN decoding and model-year information may not accurately identify your truck's flange style. Visually inspect the turbo outlet flange before ordering to confirm the 3-bolt connection. Also verify cab configuration, bed length and wheelbase compatibility.

4-Inch Duramax LML Race Pipe Features

The 2015.5–2016 LML DPF race pipe features a 4-inch stainless steel design for compatible competition exhaust configurations. Its construction provides a durable alternative exhaust section, with OE-style hangers that help maintain the correct mounting position underneath the truck.

  • 4-inch exhaust diameter: Designed for compatible 4-inch exhaust configurations.
  • Stainless steel construction: Provides durability and corrosion resistance in demanding environments.
  • 3-bolt flange configuration: Matches the required factory connection on applicable late 2015–2016 LML trucks.
  • OE-style exhaust hangers: Help secure and position the pipe using the appropriate mounting locations.
  • No sensor bungs: Designed for applicable dedicated competition exhaust configurations.

Installation and Tuning Requirements

This race pipe is designed to replace the applicable factory catalytic converter and DPF exhaust section in a dedicated competition vehicle. Professional installation is recommended to ensure the correct 3-bolt flange connection, proper exhaust alignment and sufficient clearance around nearby components.

Important: The intended competition-only configuration requires compatible race-specific engine tuning. This pipe is not a direct replacement for a factory emissions-compliant exhaust system.

Before Installation

  • Visually confirm that your truck has the factory 3-bolt turbo outlet flange.
  • Verify pickup configuration, bed length and wheelbase compatibility.
  • Inspect the existing exhaust connections and mounting locations.
  • Confirm the need for any additional exhaust components or installation hardware.
  • Arrange professional installation and appropriate competition-specific tuning.

Optional 4-Inch Diesel Muffler

If you want to manage exhaust noise in your competition setup, consider adding a compatible 4-inch stainless steel diesel muffler. A straight-through muffler can help reduce exhaust sound without introducing the chambered design of a conventional restrictive muffler.

The muffler is sold separately and is not included with this race pipe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this DPF race pipe fit my 2015 Duramax LML?

It fits applicable late 2015 trucks equipped with the factory 3-bolt turbo outlet flange. Early 2015 trucks with the V-band connection require the other version. Always inspect the flange before ordering.

What is the difference between the 2011–2015 and 2015.5–2016 LML race pipes?

The main fitment difference is the factory turbo outlet connection. Early LML configurations use a V-band clamp, while late 2015–2016 configurations use a 3-bolt flange. The two pipe versions are not interchangeable.

Will this pipe fit a 2016 Silverado or Sierra 2500HD?

Yes, for compatible 2016 2500HD pickup configurations equipped with the 6.6L Duramax LML and factory 3-bolt turbo outlet flange. Confirm the cab, bed and wheelbase requirements before purchase.

Does it fit Duramax Cab & Chassis trucks?

No. This race pipe is designed for compatible Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups, not Cab & Chassis configurations.

Does this Duramax LML race pipe require tuning?

Yes. The intended competition-only configuration requires compatible race-specific engine tuning.

Does the pipe come with a muffler?

No. A compatible 4-inch stainless steel diesel muffler can be purchased separately if additional exhaust sound control is desired.
