The Duramax LB7 LLY LBZ race exhaust is a downpipe-back system for 2001–2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD trucks with the 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY, or LBZ engine. It replaces the factory exhaust system after the turbo downpipe with a straight pipe setup to improve exhaust flow and reduce backpressure.

No way I could install this in my garage. First, the coupler that goes into the down pipe was welded at the wrong angle which made the exhaust pipe hit the floor of the truck. An exhaust shop had to chop and weld that at a different angle so it would go between the cross member and floor. Just about all hangers had to be cut and welded, other bends were wrong which required cutting and rotating the pipe and welding, then the exit of the pipe was pointing forward on the truck instead of out the side as intended. It took cutting, rotating, and welding that 5" pipe to fix that issue as well. In the end, we used two of the band clamps for ease of removal in the future if needed. I highly recommend not purchasing this kit unless you intend on taking it to a competent exhaust fabricator. It will not work for you and will cost you more money. Also, exhaust shops can't bend 5", only the pipe manufacturers have that tooling, so don't expect them to straighten out the messed up bends.....cut and weld fixes only. It does sound nice, but 5" pipe is 5" pipe. Find a better fitting kit.

Product fit well and performs as should only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is some 4in systems I've installed in the past have hangers made onto pipe section and is easier to find where they fit, this kit has hangers made onto the clamps and no instructions on where they should go. However even though it takes a little more time get lined up all the pieces fit very well and we're of good quality and pricing was good as well. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Exhaust is easy to install, took about 30 minutes once I removed the old one. I would give it a five, but my clamps that had the metal rod that goes through the hanger had no rubber isolater. The exhaust can shake out of the hanger. I’d recommend welding together, good quality and sounds amazing.

Install went very easy. Once original exhaust was out it took approximately 30 mins to install the new. All hangers were in the correct spot and lined up well. 10/10 would recommend. worth the small extra cost since I didnt have to mess with adjustable hangers. 2002 silverado 2500HD CREW CAB.
