Best Diesel Delete Tuners of 2026: Mini Maxx, EZ Lynk & EFI Live for Powerstroke, Cummins & Duramax

Deleting your diesel without the right tune is the fastest way to put your truck in limp mode. The tuner is the most critical part of any DPF, EGR, or DEF delete build — it's what tells your ECM the emissions hardware is gone.

This guide covers four diesel delete tuner options in 2026 — Mini Maxx V2, EZ Lynk tune packages, the OBD2 Flash Tuning Interface (included in our all-in-one kits for L5P, LM2, LWN Duramax and 2022–2024 RAM), and EFI Live AutoCal V3 — with a clear breakdown of which one fits your truck, your build, and how you drive. Plus, if you want the complete setup in one order, we'll show you why the all-in-one delete kit is the smartest way to do it.

Why a Tune is Non-Negotiable for a DPF Delete

A lot of guys think a delete pipe is a delete. It's not. The pipe is just metal — without a tune, your ECM is still monitoring the DPF, EGR, and DEF sensors. The moment those sensors stop reading what the ECM expects, you're in limp mode and the truck is throwing every emissions fault code in the book.

A delete tune does three things: it removes ECM monitoring of the deleted emissions components, it clears the associated fault codes, and it recalibrates fueling and timing to take advantage of the reduced backpressure.

Without it, you have the hardware but none of the gains. With it, your truck is properly calibrated for the new setup — lower EGTs, better throttle response, and the power numbers you actually deleted for.

Mini Maxx V2 — Plug-and-Play Delete Tuner

ℹ️
Check compatibility carefully before purchasing. The Mini Maxx V2 has specific year and model limits — it does not support Duramax L5P (2017+), 2020+ Ford Powerstroke, or any GM truck built after 2016. For those platforms, EZ Lynk or the OBD2 Flash Tuning Interface is the correct choice.

Known Issues — From the Manufacturer

  • ⚠️ ALL TRUCKS — Factory EGT sensors: The Mini Maxx V2 does not work with factory pyrometer/EGT probes. Unplug all of them before installing. If you still want EGT readings, you'll need to add a separate docking station.
  • ⚠️ Throttle Position gauge: Does not work on any truck. Do not use it.
  • ⚠️ 2013–2021 RAM — Boost drops to 20 PSI: Known issue. H&S has a temporary fix (lasts 300–500 miles) for 2013–2018. No fix yet for 2019–2021. This is an unresolved issue as of the last update.
  • ⚠️ 2018+ RAM — P040D fault code: This code will show up but doesn't affect how the truck drives or how the tune works. No software fix. Immediate workaround: keep the EGR temperature sensor plugged in.
  • ⚠️ 2018+ RAM — "Part number not currently supported": If your PCM part number starts with a letter (not a number), the tuner may not flash. Try the latest firmware update first. If it still doesn't work, contact support or return it.
  • ⚠️ 2014–2015 RAM — Loping/surging at idle: Some trucks exhibit this. Update to firmware v2.0.0.4 or later. If it's still doing it after the update, unplug all EGT sensors.
  • ⚠️ 2011+ Ford 6.7L — P24C6 or P24DA codes: Caused by a calibration issue on certain PCMs. Fixed as of October 2023 — update your device firmware and the codes will clear.
  • ⚠️ 2011–2019 Ford — SOTF not working on some trucks: About 7% of 2011–2019 Ford Powerstroke trucks have a PCM software version that doesn't support SOTF power mode switching. The tune itself works fine — you just can't change power levels on the fly on those trucks.
  • ⚠️ 2016 Ford — P04E3 code: The 2016 model doesn't have a PCV sensor the tuner expects, which triggers this code. Download the fix file from the Mini Maxx website, copy the "MGGDT.IT1" file into the FORD folder on the SD card, update firmware, reinstall tune. Only do this if you're getting that specific code.
  • ⚠️ 2017–2019 Ford 6.7L — Factory EGT sensor causes boost drop: On these years, leaving the factory EGT sensor plugged in will cause the boost to drop off and the truck to feel gutless. Fix: unplug the factory EGT sensor and clear the codes. Truck will run correctly — you just won't have an EGT readout.
  • ⚠️ 2011+ LML Duramax — Cab & Chassis dual tank: If your LML C&C has dual fuel tanks, do not use this tuner. It will disable the rear tank. Boost gauge will also not work on LML. You cannot adjust tire size or change the speed limiter on LML trucks.

Who it's for: Owners of pre-2017 GM, pre-2020 Ford, or 2007.5–2021 RAM trucks who want a simple, preloaded delete with no cloud dependency. It's a proven tool on the platforms it covers — just verify your year, model, and body style against the table above before purchasing. For 2017+ GM or 2020+ Ford, go EZ Lynk.

EZ Lynk Tune Packages — Best for Custom & Cloud-Based Tuning

The EZ Lynk AutoAgent 3 is a cloud-based tuning platform — tunes are delivered remotely via the EZ Lynk app on your phone. No handheld screen, no SD card, no cable. Your tuner communicates with the cloud, your tune gets pushed, and you're done. It also supports over-the-air updates and remote tech support.

Why EZ Lynk beats plug-and-play for performance builds: Custom tunes are built around your specific truck — injector size, turbo, fueling mods, all of it. If you're making changes beyond a basic delete, a custom tune is the only way to safely extract real power without pushing EGTs or fueling out of safe range.

Each package below includes the EZ Lynk AutoAgent 3 device plus platform-specific custom tune files for your truck.

Who it's for: Modified trucks, performance builds, and anyone on a newer platform (2017+). If you're stacking mods or want tunes updated remotely as your build evolves, EZ Lynk is the right call.

Who it's for: If you own a 2017+ L5P Duramax, a 3.0L LM2 diesel, a Colorado/Canyon LWN, or a 2022–2024 RAM 2500/3500 — this is the tuning interface for your delete build. The Mini Maxx and EFI Live don't cover these platforms. This device is already bundled into our all-in-one kits for these trucks, so if you're ordering a complete kit, it's included.

EFI Live AutoCal V3 — Best for Shops & Advanced Builds

EFI Live is the professional-grade option. The AutoCal V3 stores custom tune files on a micro-SD card, supports high-speed data logging, and supports multiple vehicle configurations. It's the tool of choice for diesel performance shops and fleet owners who need granular control over every tuning parameter.

What sets EFI Live apart: Custom tunes are built specifically for your truck's configuration — year-specific files, SOTF switch integration, and bypass cables are included based on model selection. This isn't a one-size-fits-all preloaded tune. It's built for your truck.

Two platform-specific packages available — one for Ram Cummins, one for GM Duramax.

Who it's for: Diesel shops, fleet operators, and performance builders who need multi-vehicle support and full tune customisation. Not a plug-and-play option — expect to invest time into the setup. The payoff is unmatched control over your tune.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a tune before or after installing delete pipes?
Load the tune first, then install the hardware. If you install delete pipes before flashing the ECM, the truck will immediately go into limp mode when it detects the missing sensor signals. Flash first, install second.
What's the difference between a preloaded tune and a custom tune?
A preloaded tune (Mini Maxx) is a one-size-fits-all file built for a stock or near-stock truck. It's fast and simple. A custom tune (EZ Lynk, EFI Live) is built around your specific truck — accounting for injector size, turbo, fueling, and any other mods. For heavily modified trucks, a custom tune is the safe and correct choice.
Which tuner is best for a 6.7 Powerstroke delete?
For a 2008–2019 6.7 Powerstroke, the Mini Maxx V2 is a solid plug-and-play option. For 2020–2025 trucks or modified builds, the EZ Lynk Powerstroke package is the better fit.
Which tuner works on a 6.7 Cummins?
All three options cover the 6.7 Cummins. Mini Maxx V2 covers 2007.5–2021 RAM (note: discontinued platform, 2018–2021 requires a bypass cable). EZ Lynk Cummins package for 2010–2021 with custom tuning and ongoing support. EFI Live AutoCal V3 for 2006–2021 for professional/shop use.
Is the all-in-one delete kit worth it vs buying parts separately?
Yes — especially on the first build. The all-in-one kit removes the compatibility guesswork, saves time sourcing individual parts, and usually comes out cheaper than buying everything separately. When you buy a complete all-in-one kit from Tuner Depot, you save 5% off the individual component prices before any site discounts — so you're already ahead before any sale pricing kicks in. If you're doing a full EGR + DPF + DEF delete, it's the right way to go.
How much HP can I gain from a diesel delete tune?
On a stock truck, a delete tune with supporting hardware typically adds 50–100 HP depending on the platform. The Mini Maxx V2 claims up to 250 HP potential on supported trucks. Custom tunes via EZ Lynk or EFI Live can push further, especially on modified builds with larger injectors and upgraded turbos.
What tuner works on a 2017+ L5P Duramax or 2022–2024 RAM?
For the L5P Duramax (2017+), LM2 (2020+), LWN Colorado/Canyon (2016–2021), or 2022–2024 RAM 2500/3500 — you need the OBD2 Flash Tuning Interface. The Mini Maxx V2 and EFI Live AutoCal V3 do not support these platforms. The OBD2 interface is already included in our all-in-one delete kits for these trucks — you don't need to source it separately when buying the complete kit.
What is EFI Live best used for?
EFI Live AutoCal V3 is the professional shop tool. It supports multiple vehicle configurations, high-speed data logging, and full custom tune capability. If you're a shop tuning multiple trucks, or an owner building a serious performance diesel, EFI Live is the most capable platform available. It's not a beginner tool — expect a learning curve.
