Known Issues, Limitations & Required Notes (Read Before Installing a MINI Maxx to your DIESEL TRUCK)

The H&S Mini Maxx V2 is built for deleted, off-road/race applications. To avoid install problems, false readings or driveability issues, review the notes below for your platform before ordering and before flashing.

All Vehicles

  • Factory pyrometer/EGT probes are not supported. The Mini Maxx V2 will not work with OEM EGT/pyro probes. Unplug all factory EGT probes before operation.
  • If you require exhaust gas temperature monitoring, add a docking station to the Mini Maxx V2 and use a compatible EGT solution.

2013–2021 RAM Cummins

  • Boost drop to ~20 PSI: Some trucks may experience boost falling off to approximately 20 PSI. A BETA file in the latest update provides a temporary improvement for 2013–2018 models (typically 3–500 miles), but there is currently no confirmed fix for 2019–2021.

2014–2015 RAM Cummins

  • Loping/Surging: Some 2014–2015 RAM trucks may exhibit a loping or surging condition. Updating the tuner to version 2.0.0.4 or newer should address this on affected vehicles.

2011+ Ford Power Stroke

  • P24C6 / P24DA PMS codes (older software): Some devices running older firmware may set P24C6 or P24DA. This is related to earlier calibrations and certain PCMs, not an install error. As of October 2023, the issue has been corrected—update your device if you see these codes.
  • SOTF power-mode switching (rare): Certain PCM software versions may not cooperate with the Mini Maxx V2 Shift-On-The-Fly strategy and may not change power modes. This is uncommon and reported to affect roughly 7% of 2011–2019 Ford applications.

2016 Ford Power Stroke

  • CEL P04E3 (PCV sensor not present): The 2016 model year may set a check engine light for P04E3 because the truck does not contain a PCV sensor the Mini Maxx V2 expects. If you have this code, download the fix file, extract it, copy MGGDT.IT1 into the FORD folder on the SD card, then update the tuner firmware and reinstall the tune. Only use this fix if your truck is showing P04E3.

2011+ Duramax LML

  • Dual fuel tanks not supported: On LML Cab & Chassis trucks with dual tanks, the Mini Maxx V2 may disable the rear tank. This configuration is not advised.
  • Boost gauge will not function on these applications.
  • Tire size changes and speed limiter adjustments are not available on these applications.

2018+ RAM Cummins

  • “Part number not currently supported”: The tuner supports the original PCM software where the part number starts with a number. If your PCM part number starts with a letter, the tuner may not function. First try the latest update; if the issue remains, contact your retailer for support or return options.

2017–2019 Ford Power Stroke

  • Factory EGT sensor not supported: Current tunes do not support the OEM EGT sensor. Earlier model years may show incorrect pyro data; on 2017+ trucks it can cause boost drop-off and a no-power feel. The immediate fix is to unplug the EGT sensor and clear codes. A future update is expected to address this, but EGT readout will remain unavailable until corrected.
  • Throttle Position gauge: The Throttle Position gauge is not supported. Do not use this gauge.
