Iron Loader V2 - Installation and Tuning Instructions

Welcome to the Iron Loader V2 installation guide! This device is designed to enhance your vehicle's performance by allowing you to easily install custom tunes using your smartphone or tablet. The Iron Loader V2 communicates with your vehicle through Bluetooth and the PowerGate app, making the tuning process seamless and efficient.

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to get started!

Step 1: Preparing Your Device

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • A smartphone or tablet running iOS or Android.
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection for uploading and downloading your tune.
  • The PowerGate app installed on your device. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play by clicking the links below:

Once you've gathered everything, you’re ready to proceed!

Step 2: Connecting the Iron Loader V2 to Your Vehicle

Follow these steps to connect the Iron Loader V2 to your vehicle:

  1. Plug the OBD2 cable into the IronLoaderV2 module (insert the serial side of the cable into the female serial port on the device).
  2. Connect the OBD2 connector on the cable to your vehicle’s OBD2 port.
  3. You will need to ensure that the Location services and Bluetooth are enabled on your iPhone/Android device in order to connect to the Iron Loader.
  4. Allow the device to power on, signified by the LED lights turning on and become BLUE.
  5. Once the device has powered on, using your phone, open the “PowerGate” application.
  6. You will be required to connect to the Iron Loader via BlueTooth through this application, please open your Bluetooth settings in the phone and connect to the device.
  7. You will be required to connect to your WiFi in this process as well in order to succesfully tune your vehicle.
  8. Once the connection has been established, the device will begin updating both software and firmware versions, please let this process finish before continuing.

Once the device is successfully connected, you're ready to read the stock file from your vehicle’s ECU.

Step 3: Reading the Stock File

Now that your Iron Loader V2 is connected, follow these steps to read the stock file:

  1. Ensure your phone remains connected to the Iron Loader V2 via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the PowerGate app on your phone.
  3. Follow the in-app prompts to initiate a stock file read from your vehicle’s ECU.
  4. Make sure the vehicle's ignition is in the "ON" position (engine not running) during this process.
  5. Ensure that virtual reading is selected during the communication phase.
  6. Wait for the app to complete the read process. This may take a few minutes.
  7. Once the reading is complete, the app will prompt you to save the stock file. Follow the instructions on the screen to save it to your phone.

At this point, your stock tune has been successfully read and saved.

Step 4: Uploading and Downloading the Custom Tune

Now, you’re ready to upload your stock tune and download your custom tune:

  1. After saving the stock file, the PowerGate app will automatically prompt you to upload the stock file to our tuning server.
  2. Ensure you have a stable internet connection for the upload.
  3. Once the upload is complete, the app will notify you when the custom tune is ready for download.
  4. Download the custom tune to your phone via the PowerGate app once it is available.

Your custom tune is now ready to be applied to your vehicle!

Step 5: Writing the New Tune to Your Vehicle

Follow these steps to write the new custom tune to your vehicle:

  1. Re-connect the OBD2 cable to the Iron Loader V2 and your vehicle’s OBD2 port (just like in Step 2).
  2. Confirm that the device powers on (the LED should be blue).
  3. Open the PowerGate app and ensure the device is still connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  4. The device will prompt you to complete Step 2: Connecting the Iron Loader V2 to Your Vehicle again. Please refer to the "Step 2 Connecting the Iron Loader V2 to Your Vehicle" section above.
  5. Please select the writing button.
  6. Select the downloaded custom tune from the app interface.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to write the new tune to your vehicle’s ECU. Keep the vehicle's ignition in the "ON" position (engine off) throughout the process.
  8. Do not interrupt the process. Wait for the device to indicate that the tune has been successfully written.
  9. Once completed, turn off the ignition and disconnect the OBD2 cable.

The new tune has now been successfully written to your vehicle!

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during the process, here are some troubleshooting steps:

Connection Issues:

  • Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.
  • Ensure that the Iron Loader V2 module is powered on (the LED indicator should be blue).
  • Make sure the OBD2 cable is securely connected to both the device and your vehicle.

Application Errors:

  • If the PowerGate app is not responding, try restarting the app and repeat the process.
  • If issues persist, reboot your phone and try again.

Firmware/Software Updates:

  • Allow the Iron Loader V2 to complete any firmware or software updates during the setup process. Do not interrupt this step.
