Iron Loader

Iron Loader

Iron Loader Programmer

Notes:

  • Please ensure that the vehicle is connected to a battery tender to maintain battery condition while both READING and WRITING the vehicle.

  • Do not interrupt the reading or writing process by turning the vehicle off or unplugging the programmer.

  • PCM corruption/vehicle damage due to improper use may occur with this device, by using this device you accept this risk and the reseller is not liable for any damage to the vehicle. If this does occur, a reflash by your local dealership may be necessary to recover the PCM.

  • Due to the many variations of your vehicle, a tune adjustment may be necessary and multiple versions of the tune will need to be made for your vehicle to run correctly. This is normal and part of the process of tuning your vehicle!

  • When deleting your vehicle, please be sure to unplug the DPF sensors, EGT sensors, but do not unplug the intake valve or the DEF tank sensors. Failure to delete your vehicle in this way will cause the tune to malfunction.

Reading your stock tune

  • Install Iron Loader tuner into vehicle.

  • Start by plugging your Iron Loader unit into your OBDII port in your car. Your unit will power up and bring you to the main screen.

  • Press the “Tuning” button in the top left corner of the screen.

  • In the next step you will need to select the Brand of vehicle you have. (ex. Jeep)

  • Then you will need to select the model. (ex. Wrangler)

  • Now you will select the version of your car. (ex. 3.0 EcoDiesel)

  • Once you have finished selecting the Make, Model and Version of your car… You will need to follow the on-screen prompts to read the stock map from your ECU. (It will say “Stock file not present. Do you want to start the read operation?)

  • Once the read of the stock file is complete, you will need to go to your computer and load the Iron Loader software in order to pull the map off of your Iron Loader unit and send it to us for tuning. (If your PC is capable, the software is located on the Iron Loader and will automatically download to your computer, otherwise please follow the link in the next step.)

  • Plug your Iron Loader into your computer using the provided USB cord. A program installer will start up and try to install the BB Flasher software. (Sometimes, depending on your computers security settings, you will need to allow the installer to download the program.) If not, please download the program installer via this link: Click Here

  • Once the installation wizard has finished, it will automatically start the Iron Loader software. When the program starts, you will need to click on the “Download data” tab.

  • Click the “Start” button and the program will save your stock map to your computer.

  • Click browse and choose a good location to save your stock file and make sure you don’t lose it! (Creating a new folder and using it for only your tune files would be the best)

  • Once you have completed the save of the original ECU map, you will need to send it to us for tuning. Please send us the file via email to Black Bandit – support@tunerdepot.com , multiple files may be saved from the stock file read, please send all files if necessary.

  • Once we receive your tune, we will need about 1-2 business days to be able to make the adjustments necessary for your car and modifications. (Please be sure to save this file in the same folder as your stock file on your computer. Do not lose this file as this is your new tune for your vehicle!)

Installing your new tune

  • Once you receive your new tune file back from Black Bandit you will need to save it to your Iron Loader unit. First, you will open your Iron Loader software on your computer and plug your BB Flasher unit in using the USB cord.

  • Click on the “Upload Data” tab.

  • A browser will open and you will need to select the new file that Black Bandit has sent to you. Then click “Upload”.

  • Once complete you can unplug your Iron Loader unit and take it to your car.

  • Plug the Iron Loader unit into your OBDII port and wait for the main screen to load.

  • Tap the “Tuning” button and follow the onscreen commands.

  • You will come to a screen where there will be 2 options. Your stock file and your new Black Bandit tune file will be available. Click the new Black Bandit file, then the Right Arrow button and follow the onscreen commands.

  • During the next procedure, you will need to wait about 15-20 minutes while the Iron Loader unit writes the new tune to your ECU. (WARNING: During this procedure DO NOT turn off your car or unplug your Iron Loader unit!)

  • Once the writing of your new tune to the ECU has completed, you will see commands on the Iron Loader screen. Follow these commands. (There will be a command that tells you to turn your car on, then start the vehicle. You may or not may be able to start your vehicle. There is nothing wrong, just press the “OK” button on your Iron Loader unit and continue through the commands.)

  • Once the command prompts are complete, you will be directed back to the home screen of the Iron Loader unit. Once you get there, your car may be in the “off” position and you can unplug your Iron Loader unit. (At this point your vehicle may be stuck on, meaning all the electronics are powered on even though the car is in the off position, there is nothing wrong!)

  • Before you start your vehicle, you will need to check your ECU for any DTC code. You can do this using your BB Flasher unit or any ODBII scanning device you may have.

  • Start your vehicle and make sure everything runs correctly and enjoy!
