EZ Lynk Installation Instructions

This guide covers Ford Powerstroke, GM Duramax, and Ram/Nissan Cummins diesel platforms. The install and flashing process is the same for all three; any step that applies to only one platform is clearly marked. Read the entire guide before starting.

Install Your Tuning Before Removing Any Emissions Components

Before installing any EGR delete, DPF delete, or other race-use parts, the truck must first be flashed with the correct tuning.

  • Do not remove any factory emissions components until tuning is completed and confirmed.
  • Removing them beforehand can leave the vehicle inoperable until tuning support is available.
  • If your vehicle is currently showing emissions-related fault codes, contact a support specialist before proceeding.

Engine-Specific Notes (Read First)

Most steps are identical for all three platforms. These exceptions apply to specific vehicles:

Cummins — Engine Bay Bypass Cable Required

These vehicles need an additional engine bay bypass cable during tuning (see Step 5):

  • 2018+ Ram Cummins
  • Nissan Titan Cummins
All Platforms — Tire Size

Under Vehicle > Functions, set your correct tire size. An incorrect tire size can cause speedometer, transmission, and other vehicle-related issues.

Linking Your Technician

Your EZ Lynk must be linked to a technician so they can send your custom tune files and pull data logs. If your device isn't linked yet:

  1. Connect the device to the internet and open the EZ Lynk AutoAgent app.
  2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
  3. Go to Vehicle (or My Other Vehicles) and select the vehicle you're working on.
  4. Tap Technicians, then Lynk.
  5. Tap the “+” button in the top-right corner to manually enter the technician's email.
  6. Enter the email below and tap Next / confirm.

Tune File Turnaround

Tune files are typically available within 24 business hours after linking (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM PST). Requests after 4:00 PM, on weekends, or on holidays are processed the next business day. You'll receive an email once your tunes are ready.

1

Download the EZ Lynk AutoAgent App

Download the AutoAgent app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then:

  • Open the app
  • Select “Create Account”
  • Complete the account setup
  • Verify your email address when prompted

For best performance, update your device to the latest available operating system version.

2

Connect a Battery Charger

Before flashing the ECM, connect a battery charger to the truck and set it to a continuous 10+ amp charge mode.

ECM and TCM systems are sensitive to voltage drops during flashing. Low voltage can interrupt programming and cause the tune to fail — or, in severe cases, brick/damage the ECM.

Important
  • Keep the charger connected throughout the entire flashing process, until tuning is complete.
  • Do not turn off or cycle the ignition during programming unless instructed.
  • Do not open or close the doors while the ECM is flashing.
3

Turn the Ignition to the RUN Position

Insert the key and turn the ignition to RUN without starting the engine. For push-to-start vehicles:

  • Press the START button without pressing the brake pedal
  • Make sure the ignition is fully in RUN, not Accessory mode
  • Do not start the engine

This powers up the vehicle's control modules so the AutoAgent can communicate with the ECM.

4

Connect the AutoAgent to the OBD-II Port

Locate the OBD-II port beneath the driver's-side dashboard and connect the EZ Lynk AutoAgent.

The AutoAgent only needs to stay connected while:

  • Flashing tunes
  • Monitoring live engine data
  • Reading or clearing diagnostic trouble codes
  • Recording data logs or performing diagnostics

You can leave it connected full-time if you want to use the live gauge and monitoring features.

5

Install the Engine Bay Bypass Cable (Cummins — If Required)

Applies to 2018+ Ram Cummins and Nissan Titan Cummins Only

Powerstroke and Duramax owners can skip this step and go to Step 6.

These vehicles require an Engine Bay Bypass Cable during tuning. Install it according to the instructions included with the cable kit before flashing, then return here and continue.

6

Connect Your Mobile Device to the AutoAgent

In your phone or tablet's Wi-Fi settings, connect to the AutoAgent wireless network, named similar to:

  • EZLYNK_####

A checkmark appears beside the network name once connected.

Note

Some devices show a “No Internet Connection” warning while connected to the AutoAgent. This is normal and does not affect operation.

Then:

  1. Open the EZ Lynk AutoAgent app.
  2. Allow the app to detect your vehicle's VIN.
  3. Confirm successful communication with the vehicle.

The app will then display the technician account linked to the device.

7

Accessing & Installing Tune Files

Once your technician has sent your tunes (and the technician connection is accepted), they will appear in the app.

If the tune files don't appear:

  • Exit the app
  • Connect your phone or tablet to Wi-Fi or cellular data
  • Reopen the app to sync with the EZ Lynk servers

To find your tunes:

  • Menu (top left) → Select Vehicle → ECU Profiles

To install a tune:

  • Tap the Cloud icon to download the desired tune
  • Select the downloaded tune
  • Tap “Install”
  • Follow the on-screen prompts until flashing is complete
Important — During the Flash
  • Keep battery voltage stable.
  • Do not disconnect the AutoAgent, cycle the ignition, or close the app while flashing.
  • Wait until the app confirms programming completed before disconnecting any equipment.
Note — ECM & Transmission Tunes

The app may only display the most recently installed tune. This is normal — ECM and transmission (TCM) tunes are programmed independently and do not overwrite one another.

Final Inspection Checklist

Confirm each of the following before considering the installation complete:

  • AutoAgent connected and communicated with the vehicle.
  • Vehicle VIN correctly detected.
  • Correct vehicle profile selected.
  • Correct tire size set under Vehicle > Functions.
  • Appropriate tuning file chosen for the vehicle/application.
  • Engine bay bypass cable installed (2018+ Ram Cummins / Nissan Titan Cummins only).
  • Calibration flash completed without errors or interruptions.
  • Application confirmed successful ECU programming.
  • No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present after programming.
  • Engine starts and operates normally.
  • All tuning hardware disconnected and stored properly.
  • Test drive performed to verify proper operation.
